Dr Joseph Dzanja is an Associate Professor of Agribusiness Management

About

Dr Joseph Dzanja is an Associate Professor of Agribusiness Management. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics obtained from University of Wales – Aberystwyth, UK in 2010 and a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Malawi (Bunda College of Agriculture) obtained in 1996. He also holds a postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, obtained from Israel. He is currently lecturing in the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). He lectures in a number of courses that include Entrepreneurship, Value Chain Finance, Value Chain Analysis, Managerial Economics and International Trade.

Dr Dzanja has been involved in various research and consultancy activities. His major areas of research include microfinance, Development of SMEs, commodity value chain development and Social Capital Development. He has published a number of papers in international refereed journals in these areas.

In terms of consultancy work, he has worked for a number of organizations both in Malawi and in several African countries in such areas as baseline and evaluation studies of development projects, Business feasibility and planning, policy reviews and commodity value chain analyses..
