About the Faculty
Food and people drive the passion of the Faculty of Food and Human Sciences.
In a rapidly changing world the faculty is mandated to be innovative
in generating and sharing knowledge in food and human sciences, there-by
contributing to the pool of global knowledge for the advancement of Malawians
and human kind. As a public entity within the university,
the faculty is primarily accountable to members of the academic
community (students and staff) and the Malawi nation, therefore
invites scrutiny of the fulfillment of its mission. The Faculty
aims at contributing to the development of the Malawi nation. Established on 1 November 2013,
the Faculty of Food and Human Sciences is comprised of three departments;
Food Science and Technology, Human Nutrition and Health and Human Ecology.
