Aim of the programme
The programme focuses on producing professional manpower capable of effective performance in promoting people’s participation in irrigation.

Admissions of students into the programme.
Entry requirement into the programme is the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent with credit passes or qualifications comparable ‘O’ level certificate with at least six credit passes including English Language.

Uniqueness of the programme.
The students are trained to be able to stand alone as irrigation farmers, or can get employed in government, private companies and Non-governmental organisations. BSc Irrigation Engineering is very unique as it is demand driven meeting the needs of the industry and government as food security is critical and important to the government of Malawi. The program focuses of hands on approach through the practicals and also the four months internship program. It is one of the flagship programs at LUANAR.
