Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) was established by an Act of Parliament No. 22 of 2011, by delinking Bunda College of Agriculture from The University of Malawi.
The Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Science at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate to fill the position of Fish Farm Manager.


Job Description
The responsibilities of a Fish Farm Manager shall include but not limited to the following:
a. Produce fingerings, table fish and fish feed,
b. Organize and supervise a team of farm workers,
c. Plan and monitor farm budget,
d. Enforce sanitary measures at the Fish Farm,
e. Oversee fingerings, fish and fish feed sales,
f. Maintain farm buildings and equipment,
g. Allocate facilities to staff and students for research,
h. Training fish farmers,
i. Maintain farm records.

a. Minimum of a Diploma in Aquaculture or Fisheries related field from a reputable institution and should have a practical experience managing a busy fish farm
b. Management skills: planning, organization, decision making, record keeping and budgeting
c. Good communication skills.
d. Ability to work under pressure.
e. Ability to work outdoors
f. Computer literate
The Farm Manager will be expected to work for a long and irregular hours that may include evenings and weekends.
