The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) and the Norwegian University for Life Sciences (NMBU), which have been implementing the Capacity Building for Management of Climate Change Programme with funding from the Norwegian Government, have organised an International Conference on Sustainable Agricultural and Natural Resource Management under Changing Climate in Sub-Saharan Africa to take place at Bingu International Conference Centre from 16-18th October, 2018.

The themes to be covered during the conference include:

1. Climate Smart Agriculture with emphasis on Integrated Soil fertility Management (ISFM) and Conservation Agriculture (CA); and transformative climate change

2. Sustainable Crop/Livestock/Aquaculture/Fish Production

3. Soil and Water Conservation for Drought Management

4. Potential of soil carbon sequestration in crop livestock/aquaculture systems

5. Sustainable Natural Resource Management

6. Value addition options for smallholder market access and integration

7. Upscaling innovative technologies on smallholder farms

8. Policies and Institutions for Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resource Management; trans-formative climate change.

1. Present key findings from research projects undertaken in the CABMACC Programme and other research projects conducted by LUANAR, NMBU and other local and international organisations.

2. Provide an opportunity for researchers from universities and other institutions in SSA region including those under the NORHED program to share their research findings in several areas including climate change, food and nutrition security, integrated crop/livestock/aquaculture/agroforestry systems on smallholder farms, conservation agriculture, sustainable soil management, soil and crop health and market access.

3. Explore possibilities for increased collaboration between African institutions (south-south collaboration) and north-south collaborations.

4. Secure quality scientific papers for publication as a book through collaboration with a reputed publisher, Springer.
