Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill vacant Academic positions in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine tenable at LUANAR) in Lilongwe. All positions are tenable as soon as possible by the beginning of the Academic Year in 2015.
A. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
1. Position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Histology/Histopathology.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a BVM/BVSc/DVM. In addition candidates must have postgraduate (MSc/PhD) degree specialising in veterinary histology and/or veterinary histopathology. The candidates must have teaching experience at university level and a track record of original research with publications in refereed journals in their areas of specialization.
Duties
1. Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in veterinary microscopic anatomy (histology), microscopic pathology (histopathology) and allied courses.
2. Develop and conduct independent research and outreach programmes in their area of specialization.
3. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research
4. Identify and establish laboratory equipment and materials for teaching, research and diagnostics
5. Participate in academic, professional and administrative activities of the Department, Faculty and the University
 
2. Position of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Professor in Veterinary Embryology.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a BVM/BVSc/DVM. In addition candidates must have postgraduate (MSc/PhD) degree specialising in veterinary embryology. Candidates must have teaching experience at university level and a track record of original research with publications in refereed journals in their areas of specialization
Duties
1. Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in developmental anatomy and allied courses.
2. Conduct research and outreach programmes in their area of specialization.
3. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research
4. Identify and establish laboratory, equipment and materials for teaching and research
5. Participate in academic, professional and administrative activities of the Department, Faculty and the University
3. Position of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Professor in Veterinary Pharmacology.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a BVM/BVSc/DVM. In addition candidates must have postgraduate (MSc/PhD) degree specialising in veterinary pharmacology. Candidates must have teaching experience at university level and a track record of original research with publications in refereed journals in their areas of specialization.

2. Conduct research and outreach programmes in their area of specialization.
3. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research
4. Identify and establish laboratory, equipment and materials for teaching, research and pharmaceutics
5. Participate in academic, professional and administrative activities of the Department, Faculty and the University
 
B. DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY PATHOBIOLOGY
1. Position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Pathology.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a BVM/BVSc/DVM. In addition candidates must have postgraduate (MSc/PhD) degree specialising in general veterinary pathology and/or special/systemic veterinary pathology. Candidates must have teaching experience at university level and a track record of original research with publications in refereed journals in their areas of specialization.

1. Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in general and systemic veterinary pathology
2. Conduct research and outreach programmes in their area of specialization.
3. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research
4. Identify and establish laboratory, equipment and materials for teaching, research and diagnostics
5. Participate in academic, professional and administrative activities of the Department, Faculty and the University
2. Position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Microbiology.

3. Position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Parasitology.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a BVM/BVSc/DVM. In addition candidates must have postgraduate (MSc/PhD) degree specialising in veterinary parasitology. Candidates must have teaching experience at university level and a track record of original research with publications in refereed journals in their areas of specialization.
Duties
1. Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in veterinary helminthology, protozoology, entomology and allied courses
2. Conduct research and outreach programmes in their area of specialization.
3. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research
4. Identify and establish laboratory, equipment and materials for teaching, research and diagnostics
5. Participate in academic, professional and administrative activities of the Department, Faculty and the University
4. Position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in Veterinary Immunology and Biotechnology.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a BVM/BVSc/DVM. In addition candidates must have postgraduate (MSc/PhD) degree specialising in veterinary immunology and biotechnology. Candidates must have teaching experience at university level and a track record of original research with publications in refereed journals in their areas of specialization.
Duties
1. Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in veterinary immunology, molecular biology, biotechnology and allied courses
2. Conduct research and outreach programmes in their area of specialization.
3. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ research

5. Participate in academic, professional and administrative activities of the Department, Faculty and the University
