LUANAR University Librarian: This is commendable
A former UNIMA staff Dr Eirene Williams currently based in UK has recently donated books to LUANAR Library.

Dr William who donated eleven different books and a DVD taught at Chancellor College from 1971-1972 and was later transferred to Polytechnic where she worked from 1972 to 1977 when Chancellor College moved to Zomba.

Although she never worked at Bunda but she visited Bunda several times for meetings as well as visiting friends through whom she was in contact with Dr Timothy Ngwira and Mrs Margaret Ngwira who were working at Bunda as a Lecturer and Assistant Librarian respectively.

LUANAR Librarian, Mr Geoffrey Salanje said the library is very appreciative for this timely donation especially coming from an academician who has worked in UNIMA before but has fond memories of Bunda.

“I was involved in the choice of books among a long list of books Eirene offered to the Library. The books have meanwhile been processed and accessible to users on the open Library shelves,” He said.

The titles of the books include; Ecological genetics by A Lowe, S. Harris and P Ashton, Environmental Planning by P Selman, Plant life in aquatic and amphibious habitats by R. Crawford, Ecological methods by T Southwood, The ecology of mixed species by M Cannell, Conservation in progress by F Goldsmith, Habitat Conservation by A Warren, Population dynamics by R Anderson, Colonisation, succession and stability edited by A. Gray , The teaching of ecology by J M Lambert and Geographical information systems and science by P. Longley.
A DVD is titled: Designs that hold water: sustainable drainage systems explained.
